M1 Crab Nebula
The Crab Nebula, or M1, is a supernova remnant, also called a pulsar wind nebula, in the constellation of Taurus. At the center of the nebula lies the Crab Pulsar PSR B0531+21, a neutron star 28–30 kilometres across, with a spin rate of about 30 times per second. The nebula was discovered by English astronomer John Bevis in 1731 and corresponds with a supernova recorded by Chinese astronomers in 1054.
