Crab Pulsar PSR B0531+21
PSR B0531+21 is the young neutron star at the center of the Crab Nebula. With a rotation of about 30 times a second, the outflowing wind from the star generates the bulk of the emission in the nebula. This pulsar/neutron star is very unusual in that it emits a great deal of light in the visible spectrum.
